LESSON 2

Flora

Every plant around you counts: in a garden, on your windowsill, along your walk. We call them all flora.

Poppy

SACRAL

Flora is all around you

  • It makes the air you breathe.

  • It puts color in your day, petal by petal.

  • It moves and rustles in the wind.

  • It grows and changes with the seasons, just like you.

Rhythm of flora

Flora runs on rhythms. Morning glories open with the morning and close by night. Trees drop their leaves in fall and grow them back in spring.

You have rhythms too: when you wake, when you rest, which seasons feel most like you. Flora is a daily reminder to notice yours.

ROOT CHAKRA

Hibiscus

Roots hold a plant in place. Root is about feeling steady and safe where you are.

SACRAL CHAKRA

Poppy

Poppies are bold, bright and wide open. Sacral is about feeling, making and enjoying.

SOLAR PLEXUS CHAKRA

Yellow Daisy

Daisies turn toward the sun and use it to grow. Solar Plexus is your own fuel: confidence and the drive to act.

HEART CHAKRA

Aloe

Aloe is tough on the outside and soft at the center. Heart is about kindness, to others and to you.

THROAT CHAKRA

Blue Iris

Iris is named for the messenger of the Greek myths. Throat is about saying what you mean, and listening well.

THIRD EYE CHAKRA

Morning Glory

Morning glories open with the light and close when it fades. Third Eye is about noticing, and trusting what you sense.

Flora + Chakras

Each chakra has its own Chakramation flora. Here's the pairing, and why it fits.

CROWN CHAKRA

Pink Cosmos · Pink

Cosmos comes from the Greek word for order and harmony. Crown is about feeling part of something bigger than you.

Flora in your everyday

The flora around you speaks to the chakras too, often to more than one. A red rose points to Root. A plant with heart-shaped leaves points to Heart. If those leaves are red, it points to both. Notice the color and shape of the flora around your home and on your walks. You'll start seeing chakras everywhere.

  1. Root: Keep a potted plant or herb where you’ll see it every day.

  2. Sacral: Put fresh flora on your table. Swap it out when it fades.

  3. Solar Plexus: Open the blinds and let the sun reach your plants, and you.

  4. Heart: Spend ten minutes outside among trees, in a park or a garden.

  5. Throat: Talk to your plants while you water them. Seriously.

  6. Third Eye: Keep a scent you love nearby, like lavender or eucalyptus, and take a breath of it when you need to focus.

  7. Crown: Sit among greenery for a few minutes with nothing else to do.

Granular Meditation

You don't need a garden. A plant on your desk, a flora wallpaper on your phone, a slow walk past someone's garden. Each one is a grain. Small, daily, and yours.

Affirmation

"The trees recycle their leaves, and so shall I."

Try this today

  1. Which flora would you want around you every day?

  2. How can you bring it closer: your space, your screen, your table?

  3. Which season or time of day feels most like you?

  4. What about you matches it?

  5. How can you make more room for that rhythm?
