Oh, That’s It?

My boss gave me a compliment the other day.

And then… that was it.

I said thank you. Waited a beat. And then — almost involuntarily — I said, *“Oh, that’s it?! I thought you were going to say something bad with that.”*

And there it was. My body had already written a whole story before the moment even finished. My shoulders were bracing. My breath was shallow. My nervous system had already decided this was going to be a correction, a critique, a “but.”

It wasn’t. It was just good.

The Body Gets There First

This is what I mean when I talk about Chakramation — your body is doing chakra work in real time, whether you’re conscious of it or not. In that moment, my solar plexus — the seat of self-worth, confidence, personal power — was clenching before my mind even had a reason. It was running an old program: good news doesn’t come without a catch.

But here’s the thing. I caught it. Not after. Not an hour later in the car. Right there, in the moment, standing in front of my boss. I felt the brace, heard the words come out of my mouth, and recognized the pattern.

That’s granular meditation. That’s the practice. Not sitting on a cushion. Not closing your eyes for twenty minutes. It’s noticing — in the smallest, most ordinary moment of your workday — that your body just told you a story that wasn’t true.

What If Good Is Just Good?

We’re so trained to wait for the other shoe to drop that we rob ourselves of the simplicity of a good moment. Someone says, *you did great.* And instead of letting that land — really land, in our chest, in our body — we hold our breath waiting for the “but.”

What if there is no “but”?

What if life can be that simple sometimes? You did great. Period. Don’t scan for what could go wrong. Don’t prewrite the bad version. Just celebrate the now.

Your body already knows how to receive good things. Your solar plexus already knows how to glow when it’s recognized. The only thing getting in the way is the old story that says you have to earn the right to feel good — and even then, stay ready.

You don’t have to stay ready. You can just stay here.

You are okay. Your body already knows.
